2019 Catapult Paratriathlon Camp 

Catapult's Paratriathlon Camp will provide hands-on instructions of the basics of paratriathlon through interactive drills and lectures in a safe, accessible environment. It is designed and led by certified USA Paratriathlon coaches and assisted by experienced para-athletes. This three-day camp outside the city of Houston, TX is geared to all skill levels, with an emphasis on first-timers. This is both a USA Triathlon-sanctioned, para-friendly event.

Camp will provide skills for athletes with physical disabilities in the mobility impaired, visually impaired, and wheelchair competition categories. These include, but are not limited to: amputation, spinal cord injury, visual impairment, traumatic brain injury, and muscle impairment. Please provide detailed background on your disability and current activity level in your application.

Camp Application Deadline is Friday, August 30, 5PM CST

Accepted applicants will receive a call from camp staff to better understand your situation, and be prepared to serve you best.

Date & Location

  • Dates: Thursday, October 3rd to Sunday, October 6th

  • Location: Camp Olympia, Trinity, TX
    Campers will check-in and load up at a location in Houston, TX and be shuttled to Camp Olympia.

  • Age Requirements: Ages 13 and up.

  • Camp Limit: Max. capacity is 25 confirmed registrations.
    A waiting list will be utilized.


  • There are zero registration costs for approved athletes and their guides to attend this camp.

  • Travel costs will be the responsibility of the athlete to cover. Travel assistance information can be found below.

  • A current USA Triathlon Membership is required to attend this camp. A $15 one-day membership can be purchased if you do not desire an annual membership.

You will receive

  • Personal instruction in: pool swimming, cycling, running, nutrition and managing it all for race day.

  • Education sessions covering the logistics and specifics of paratriathlon.

  • Cabin-style room and board, and daily meals.

  • Bicycle helmet that is less than five years old

  • Goggles

  • Casual clothes for workouts

Travel Assistance

2019 Catapult grant recipients are encouraged to use grant funds to attend this camp, if necessary. If a partial travel stipend is requested, consideration will be given on a case by case basis at the discretion of camp administrators.
