CATAPULT Staff and Coaches
CATAPULT is a 100% volunteer run organization. From our founding leadership, to our day of event staff, everyone who works with CATAPULT is here to support our mission with zero administrative costs added to our bottom line. Jarrett is the co-founder of CATAPULT and currently serves the organization as CEO and Chair of the Board. He is involved in the daily business of CATAPULT responsible for the strategic growth of the organization including: programming, athlete recruitment, marketing, donor relations and business development. Jarrett also serves as a sighted guide for CATAPULT athletes with over 5 years experience in guiding novice and elite visually impaired athletes. His GUIDE resume includes completion of three IRONMAN events, two half IRONMAN events, four marathons and numerous sprint & Olympic triathlons as a sighted guide for CATAPULT and other organizations serving PC athletes. Jarrett also coaches numerous CATAPULT workouts during the week including the weekly track session, Saturday long runs and tandem clinics.
Chris is the co-founder and President of CATAPULT and currently sits as a Director on the Board. Chris has been involved in the Houston running & triathlon community since 2010, most notably helping raise funds for TEAM in Training, a branch of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and for his involvement with the JSC & SBS Triathlon Club by serving as the clubs Vice President from 2013-2016. Chris began volunteering as a sighted guide in 2015 and guided an elite Para triathlete in the Pan American Championships in Monterrey Mexico and again in Rio de Janeiro at the 2015 Olympic & Paralympic Test Event for the Rio 2016 games. Chris’s has additionally served as a guide for the Boston Marathon, Houston Marathon, The Woodlands Marathon and the Sylvan Beach Triathlon. Since inception, Chris has been involved in the daily business of CATAPULT serving as the organization’s President. He has been responsible for community outreach, programming, athlete recruitment, marketing, donor relations and business development. Chris also coaches CATAPULT workouts during the week and on the weekend.
Communications and Outreach
Caitlin is taking the world of adaptive sport by storm! After having to have her leg amputated in 2014 and finding out at the same time she was pregnant, her perseverance and grit are what help inspire others with mobility challenges to push harder. Utilizing her skills from her social media work promoting companies, Caitlin heads up the social media efforts for Team Catapult. Her objective is to bring a broad brand awareness to help athletes like herself live the most fulfilling and healthy lives. Caitlin has completed half marathon distances and triathlons. As she continues to get stronger, the goals are getting larger and more technical, but she's always up for a challenge. Caitlin holds the track cycling Flying 200 National Record.
Trey, or as his friends affectionately call him Ray-Trey, began his adventure with Catapult during the 2017 Texas Independence Relay. Initially starting as general support help, then VI guide, he eventually would come to serve as the branding strategist for the Catapult organization. Trey brings his athletic abilities to help coach and guide athletes helping achieve their goals. As well, he plays a pivotal role in providing his expertise from many years of his digital branding experience creating a wide brand awareness campaigns, collectively integrating social media, the website, email newsletters and so much more.
David has been running for over 15 years. He has completed several half marathons and marathons, including The Boston Marathon. Four years ago he started his journey into triathlon and has since finished one Half Iron and three Ironman distance races. David began practicing with Catapult in December of 2016. He practices weekly with the team and has guided in the 2017 Houston Chevron Marathon. He continues to show support as he volunteers at various local races and looks forward to guiding PC athletes in future events.
Alison Fowler is an avid runner and triathlete. She has been running for over 10 years and competed in triathlons for over 5 years. Her running achievements include over 50 marathons, including The Boston Marathon and over a dozen ultramarathons where Alison’s favorite is the 50 mile distance. She has also finished 15 full Ironman Triathlons and numerous half IRONMAN races including most recently IM 70.3 World Championship 2016. Alison is currently training for her first Ultraman in 2018. Most importantly, Alison has been a guide for visually impaired athletes for over 5 years and loves nothing more than getting the opportunity to train with Team Catapult!
Claudio Bravo, originally from Chile, grew up in the track and field environment, especially running 100m, 200m, long jump, and 4x100 relays making it all the way to high school nationals. In 2011, Triathlon was introduced to his life watching a video of double amputee Ironman World Champion Finisher Scott Risgby. Inspired by Scott, Triathlon and endurance sports have become his passion and a life changing at every level. Claudio’s achievements include 5 half marathons and 4 marathons finishers, numerous triathlon, including 8 half Ironman and 2 full Ironman finishers. In 2016 he learned about team Catapult and decided to joint as a volunteer and guide for PC athletes. Claudio is looking to add to his list of achievements his 1st ultra-running distance by end of 2017.
